Open sourceSampoAgent
An open-source, local-first job-search agent for discovering opportunities and managing applications with the user in control.
Project overview
SampoAgent connects a verified candidate profile to job discovery, CV tailoring and application tracking. Its local-first design gives candidates a workflow they can inspect and control. The public repository contains installation instructions, documentation and contribution guidance.
How the project works
Candidates build and review their own profile, discover relevant jobs, tailor application material and track progress. The local-first approach and explicit user control help keep career decisions and submissions accountable.
- Verified profile and job matching
- CV tailoring and application tracking

A candidate-controlled career workflow
SampoAgent helps a candidate organise the repetitive parts of job searching: understanding their profile, discovering suitable opportunities, preparing application material and tracking progress. The profile is based on skills and experience the candidate reviews and confirms. The agent’s recommendations are a starting point for decisions, while the candidate controls which roles and applications are pursued.

From real experience to relevant opportunities
A reviewed profile gives the search a factual basis: skills, employment history, preferences and location needs. The project initially focuses on Finland and Finnish/English workflows, while job sources and country rules are organised modularly. A candidate can examine why an opportunity appears relevant rather than receiving an unexplained list. Qualifications are not invented to force a match.

Application preparation and approval
The workflow supports tailoring a CV to the relevant position while keeping the content truthful and structured for application systems. Application-form assistance and tracking help turn an opportunity into a reviewed submission plan. Dry Run provides a safe starting mode that does not make final submissions. Review and explicit user decisions remain important when an application is ready to leave the local workflow.

Tracking replies and outcomes
Application tracking connects opportunities with the candidate’s actions and outcomes. The repository also documents optional read-only email connections for identifying likely application replies. A suggested email match does not automatically become a hiring outcome: the user reviews the association and confirms the change. The corporate website’s contact form is separate from the candidate’s local career data.

Local-first and open-source development
The local-first design makes the workflow inspectable and gives users control over their own candidate information. Public source code, documentation and contribution guidance support transparent development. Users should follow the repository’s current installation, permission and security instructions and choose optional integrations deliberately. The project assists job searching; recruitment decisions remain with employers and no hiring result is guaranteed.
Development & availability
SampoAgent is open source. Installation, supported workflows, permissions and licensing are documented in its repository. It assists with applications without promising a job offer or inventing candidate qualifications.
